About Us
Yukito is a non-profit urban clothing brand that aims to make a difference. Our mission is to aid poverty alleviation efforts in Africa through the sale of our clothing lines. All profits are donated to small charitable organisations working towards poverty alleviation.
/// OUR FASHION
We believe that fashion doesn't need to be over-complicated. Often too much going on creates confusion about the message behind each garment. Yukito clothes are uni-sex and suit those who are confident in their own personal style.
Yukito means traveller and reflects our main message which is to learn about, and become involved in, different cultures in the globalised world we live in today. Hopefully we express the combination of cultures through our work.
/// INTRODUCING OUR FIRST CHARITABLE ORGANISATION
BISEP (Business Initiatives Supporting the Eradication of Poverty) is the charitable organisation we have selected as the recipient of the profits from our first clothing line:
- BISEP was "Established and registered in 2005 under the Non Governmental Organisations' Coordination Board Act of 1990 as a nonprofit making organisation; BISEP is dedicated to contributing towards empowering communities to apply sustainable solutions that improve social, environmental and economical aspects. Our areas of coverage are Makueni, Kitui, Taita Taveta, Kwale and Kajiado counties in Kenya. BISEP offers innovative and unique based solutions to organisations, communities and individuals in clean energy, livestock production, Business Development Services, Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation technologies, water, sanitation, and hygiene. We are committed to excellence in quality and service delivery. Over a number of years, we have successfully implemented a number of projects within Kenya mainly through sub-contracting and grants by other organisations. The overall goal of BISEP is to contribute towards empowering communities to apply sustainable solutions that improve social, environmental and economical aspects."
